Trust, responsibility, teamwork and respect for the environment are the pillars Chilean winery Bodegas y Vinedos de Aguirre is built on. The winery is wholeheartedly operated by the family members who passionately concentrate on producing high quality wines. Besides latest technology, it is the soil that distinguishes the wines – volcanic ash combined with sand-loam soil provide mineral and fresh wines. Because of the flatness of the vineyards the grapes get the exact amount of sun they need.
This is the winery's flagship Gran Reserva wine, which is made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Carménère. All the fruit comes from the Villa Alegre estate in the heart of the Maule Valley, where soils are special and shallow and yield eight tonnes per hectare. This is an intense, complex wine with aromas of pepper, black berries, red peppers and hazelnut. In the mouth it has a good structure, with firm tannins.
