This very distinctive Pinot Noir (Spätburgunder) was made by the wine estate Koch in Hainfeld. The Koch winery has over the last few years gained special recognition for their quality wines. In 2017 the Koch winery was even recommended in the world-famous Gault Millau wine guide. Bernhard Koch and his Japanese Winemaker Chie Sakata have a special talent for making fruity, intense red wines. Their ability of creating high quality red wines has been recognized by the VINUM competition for German red wines where they were awarded 18/20 points for their Pinot Noir and selected as best product out of 1,325 red wines.
The aromas of this Spätburgunder are dominated by cherries, combined with dark chocolate and hints of cardamom spice. Enjoy this uncomplicated and refreshing red with lamb or beef dishes. Or just pour yourself a glass, relax and let the evening fade away.
