Pedra Viva Priorat D.O.Q. 2018

The name Pedra Viva means living terroir, and this is the philosophy of the winery MAS d'en GIL in Priorat Spain. Since 2008, they have incorporated biodynamics in the vineyards which allows them to produce wine with more vivacity, identity, and complexity.  

Priorat is located in Catalunya and it is one of only two wine regions in Spain to qualify as DOCa. This is the highest qualification level for a wine region according to Spanish wine regulations. Priorat covers 11 municipalities and the region is famous for producing powerful red wines. This red blend of Grenache, Carignan, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon displays cherry red color of medium intensity. It has wonderful aromas of red fruit, wood, and licorice. In the mouth, slightly unctuous attack, and the finish is fresh and lucious on the palate.
