Chateau Moulin Haut Laroque is a 17th century estate located on the wonderful hillside terroir of Saillans in Bordeaux’s Fronsac region. Fronsac is a Bordeaux sub-appellation neighboring Saint-Emilion and Pomerol. It was once valued even higher than its prestigious neighbors, but has been somewhat forgotten over the years. Because of this, it is often referred to as an insider tip to Bordeaux wine and today many wine connoisseurs are turning to the region for hidden gems. The wines from Fronsac are complex, rich, ripe, and affordable. They drink well young and offer some of the best value Bordeaux wines.
Our new BASF exclusive wine "Le Menhir" was made by Thomas Hervé. To just describe Thomas as a talented winemaker would not do justice to his work. He has through his hard work attracted international attention and received excellent ratings in a large number of wine publications. When creating our BASF cuvée, he used 100% Merlot, which gives this wine its velvety, round structure. This wine already drinks wonderfully now and will cellar well. Pair with braised or grilled meats, roasted chicken with mushroom or a truffle risotto.
