Dr. Bassermann-Jordan Ruppertsberg Auslese BASF Exclusive 2019

In 1718 the family Jordan, who had immigrated to the Palatinate region some years earlier, founded the winery in the village of Deidesheim. From that time on, the family has been promoting the development of fine-wine-production in their region, always accompanied by the noble grape variety Riesling. Over the years their wines have been tasted by kings and chancellors and even the most prominent poet of Germany, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, enjoyed having a glass of Bassermann-Jordan.

Being an Auslese, which is the German term for a late harvest. the grapes for this wine were handpicked from selected very ripe bunches in late November to early December. Aromas of ripe peach and apricots will fill fill your glass. The pleasant sweetness and fruit flavors are nicely balanced by slight harmonizing acidity. This Riesling is a perfect companion for dessert or for sweet moments.
