The winery Studier is a typical family winery in Ellerstadt in the Palatinate wine region and mostly known for its straightforward and vibrant youthful wines. The German word Studier means “to study” or being student, so the winery playfully releases its wine in a Bachelor and a Master line. Blends in these lines often have names as summer semester, campus, or first semester.
This Grauburgunder is from Bachelor line and is made in stainless steel tanks. It has a fruity aroma and an approachable freshness. It has a fruity bouquet of almond blossoms, pears, and apricots. On the palate it is pleasantly soft and shows a moderate acidity, but is still lean and lively. It is wonderfully refreshing and a suitable accompaniment to roasted and grilled meat, spicy vegetable dishes or strong cheeses.
