The story of the Bassermann-Jordan winery is the story of a family dynasty that has helped form quality-based viticulture in Germany for almost 300 years. Each generation had great personalities who used their intelligence, expertise and flair as well as their financial and political influence to safeguard and improve the reputation of the winery and the outstanding wines produced in the Pfalz winegrowing region. The wines of Bassermann-Jordan have been classic examples of traditional Palatinate Rieslings for decades. Even the famous German writer and wine lover, Goethe, was a customer of the estate in the early 19th century. Nowadays it is counted among the best wineries of Germany and especially when it comes to Riesling in the world.
Selectively harvested grapes from various vineyards around Ruppertsberg form the basis for this wine. The Ruppertsberg Riesling Dry shows itself with fine aromas after quince, grapefruit, lime and Granny Smith apple. In the mouth, the wine is juicy with lively acidity and good balance.
