Oh Mosella! Ever since the Roman era generations of wine lovers have sung about the beauty of this region. A narrow river valley with steep, partly terraced vineyards between rough slate rocks - the Mosel landscape is simply spectacular! Vines grow on virtually every southern slope along the meandering course of the river - from the border to Luxembourg in the west to Koblenz in the east. Riesling is the undisputed ruler here. In the cool climate of the river valley, it shows its strength, producing low-alcohol wines with an appealing acidity. There is also a seductive hint of residual sweetness and the unmistakable aroma of wines grown on slate soils - a unique style that has made the Mosel famous worldwide.

Immich-Batterieberg ranks among the oldest estates in Mosel. The first recorded reference of this estate is in a deed from 908 A.D. when Ludwig IV the last East Frankish Carolingian king transferred the estate to the church. The winery has produced this riesling for BASF under the Fully Charged private label to celebrate the company's advances in the field of battery technology.
