Grapes have been grown by the Kranz family for a long time, but it was only in the 1970s that Robert and Lieselotte Kranz decided to bottle and market their own wine and turn their backs on the bulk wine business. Over time, new vineyard sites, modern technical equipment, and a state-of-the-art wine cellar were added. Their son Boris knew from a very young age that he wanted to become a winemaker and was already responsible for winemaking in his early 20s. There were no ancient winemaking traditions in the family so he worked his way to the top with dedication and precise craftsmanship. This Pinot Blanc showcase Boris’ winemaking skills and why he is considered one of the very best Pinot Blanc producers in Germany. It displays a wide range of fruit aromas, from rich notes of peach, quince to ripe apricots and honeydew. It is elegant on the palate with a good grip, with notes of bright flowers and some green tea, and slightly salty mineral finish. Enjoy this delicious wine with your favorite seafood dishes, or why not as a contrast to richer cuisine like Quiche Lorraine or a white pizza.
