Krebs "Crustacea" Rotweincuvée BASF Exklusiv 2020

The motto of the Krebs family winery is "20 hectares and no hocus-pocus, down-to-earth, organic, and hand in hand with nature!” Jürgen Krebs runs the winery together with his father and they cultivate a total of 16 hectares of vines. They attach great importance to the diversity of the terroir and Jürgen likes to display his love for French red wines in his own red wines. In this blend, which is exclusive to BASF, you can look forward to a full-bodied, fruity red wine with pronounced aromas of cassis and white pepper, as well as cherry and dark chocolate. It is wonderfully framed by velvety wood tones. The blend starts as a traditional Bordeaux blend with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. But Jürgen finsihed it off with his own twist... by adding Blaufränkisch and Carignan.

We think this blend is a perfect example of the Krebs love of red wines with an international character. And the fact that they have mastered this is proven by the award "Red Wine Collection of the Year 2022" at the Meiningen Red Wine Prize.
