Lucashof Buntsandstein Riesling BASF Exclusive 2023

Founded in the 1960’s by Edmund Lucas, the Lucashof winery also manages the vineyards of the nearby parish winery. Edmund's son Klaus and his wife Christine continue the tradition and have recently established a beautiful hotel and new cellars with a nice tasting room. The exceptional quality of the wines is proof of their efforts.

The grapes used for this wine grow on the nutrient-poor red sandstone soils typical of the Palatinate. The name Buntsandstein means colored sandstone in German and it is a particularly good soil for top white wines. This Riesling is slightly floral on the nose, with notes of yellow stone fruit and fresh herbs. It is juicy and mineral on the palate with a fresh acidity and with notes of ripe yellow and tropical fruit.
