The winery Salomon Undhof has produced white wines from the best terraced sites along the Donau river in Austria since 1792. The winery specializes in crystal clear wines with fine minerality and was the first Austrian winery to ever produce a dry wine. Their wines are found in some of the best restaurants around the world, so it did not come as a surprise to us that they were among W&S Top 100 Wineries in 2013, 2016 and 2019. The winery is bordering the eastern part of the “cultural world heritage site” Wachau in the Austrian wine appellation Kremstal DAC. Their vineyards are solely dedicated to Riesling and the Austrian varietal Grüner Veltliner. Grown on loess-terraces owned by the parish of Krems, this is a classic racy Grüner Veltliner. Vinified in traditional way, this wine was originally used as altar wine Messwein during the celebration of the Eucharist. We think you will enjoy the aromas of elderflowers, white pepper, pear and white peaches.
