Seckinger Ruppertsberg Chardonnay BASF Exclusive 2022

Weingut Seckinger is a dynamic winery from Niederkirchen in Pfalz, known for its commitment to biodynamic viticulture. It is also one of the youngest wineries in Pfalz, founded by the Seckinger family in 2012. The winery emphasizes sustainable practices and minimal intervention in the vineyards. At vinification, the winery relies on spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts, minimal use of sulfur, no fining, and aging in a combination of stainless steel and oak barrels.

This limited release of 1,600 bottles of Chardonnay is from the Ruppertsberg vineyard site, where the vines grow on limestone and red sandstone soil. The harvest is all manual, and only the best grapes are picked. It has nice fruit, and firm acidity of ripe lime and pineapple, lime zest, light herbal notes and the typical Seckinger minerality.
