This winery, which was established in 1849 by Auguste Jordan and Friedrich Deinhard, and formerly in the control of the Koblenz sparkling wine dynasty, was taken over by Achim Niederberger in 2007. With a new vision, significant investments but still with respect for the tradition, comprehensive changes were made like a complete renovation of the estate, the establishment of the “Leopold” restaurant and the redesign of the park.
The BASF exclusive Winning Red is a red wine cuvée which has been made for us blending the international grape varieties Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Syrah with Lemberger. The result lands somewhere between the Palatinate, Portugal and France, with juicy forest fruit aromas, accompanied by subtle notes of pepper and chocolate. The dark fruit is harmoniously integrated in the taste, and clings to the intensively noticeable use of wooden barrels. A perfect partner for hearty meat dishes.
