The Hahn-Pahlke winery is located in the northern Palatinate village of Battenberg. It is a family business and there are three generations living and working at the esate. At the helm is the young winemaker Thomas Pahlke who is considered one of the up-and-coming talents from the Palatinate region.
This intensely floral white cuvée is a blend of Müller-Thurgau and Bacchus grapes. The Müller-Thurgau is a hardy and dependable grape variety, and it is therefore widely planted in Germany. While subtly aromatic, the Müller-Thurgau is low in acidity and mild in flavors. However, by adding Bacchus to the blend, Thomas Pahlke has created a delightful crisp white wine, showing grapey, elderflower and citrus characters. It is a perfect partner for light dishes like salads and antipasti.
