Kuhn Challenger BASF Exclusive 2022

A German red wine that can challenge all red wines produced around the globe? There are many winemakers today who know how to do it and Philipp Kuhn is definitely on the list! He became a star of the German wine world after becoming a VDP-member in 2008 and even more after being awarded the title “Shooting star of the year” by the Gault Millau wine guide in 2011. Right from the start, it has been his red wines that made him stand out from his colleagues – made in a Francophile style, really dry and with skillful use of oak. In the very good vintage of 2022, Kuhn created a red cuvée of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Blaufränkisch exclusively for BASF Wine Cellar. This “Palatinate Bordeaux” has everything a red wine of international format needs: Dark fruit flavours, subtle oak notes, and a grippy tannin structure.
